Did you miss me? Its been a while since I posted on my blog & I just wanted to apologize. When professional & personal begin to slowly unravel it can be a chore to pick up the pieces & sew it all back together! My hiatus was unintentional, I had every intention of keeping up with my blog on a consistent basis however, it snowballed. I am more then certain you have all been there from time to time.

Well I have been currently submerged in a stack of resumes, scheduling back to back Zooms, FaceTime & call sessions with clients & candidates alike. I have to say, although it can be absolutely exhausting, it can be pretty fun as well! (y’all zoom fatigue is the real deal) I really love getting to chat with people through out the states & some from other countries in all industries & sectors.

Interviewing for me typically is more of a conversation. I despise a full on atypical interview. Yes, I am well aware that I have to ask all the questions to pull out information I need to narrow in on either or not that candidate is the ideal client but there is more to an interview then just questions. I really love it when I get on the line & there is a steady ease about the conversation taking place. I love to compare it to a beautiful dance that consists of gliding from topic to topic seamlessly. Now if there is any witty banter, well then, that just takes the cake!

Just for frame of reference, if you are interviewing please note this…the one conducting the interview does not want to be the primary one speaking. So those short answers to our questions do not allow us as recruiters/headhunters to really narrow in on whether or not you are qualified. Now I am not saying by any means that we require a full in depth breakdown of what you did to reduce costs last quarter but give us some details! I know I personally take serious notes when a candidate is speaking & sometimes I like to actually quote the candidate in saying certain things. It helps me really paint a good picture as to who my clients are reviewing. Just a bit of advice next time you are on a call for a job.

Currently, I am taking on more & more business which is exciting! With new clients comes an influx of new roles & challenges which is always exciting. So stay tuned, I promise I will do my best not to leave you hanging as long.
