“Ring My Bell, Ring My Bell!”

I ran my bell yesterday back in October 20, 2016 & it feels sometimes like I just did it and other times like its been a century. Just depends on what I am going through at the time of my life when I reminisce during that time. Cancer had me for 6 months but it didn’t own me then & it doesn’t own me now. Its as much a mental game & it is a physical one. Everyday I can succumb to the worries of the cancer game or I can own my day & march forward in faith.

Cancer is now a part of my personal story & it has molded me into a more thankful & resilient individual. It is one of those things that I am thankful God gave me to fight versus another individual that might not have the same faithful mindset that God will handle it all. God knew what He was doing but then again, He always does.

Hear is my story…I have told it before & I will continue to tell it each year to make sure that those reading this are vigilant in checking their own health & become aware that it can happen to anyone, even a incredibly healthy 32 year that had a 3 year old & a 6 month old at the time of diagnosis. It happens to anyone, cancer does not discriminate.

If you are worried about potentially having ovarian cancer, go check out the list of symptoms & make an appointment to see your Physician. You can never be too careful! Cancer. org does a great job listing out some of the symptoms. They are as follows per their website:

List of symptoms

  • Bloating
  • Pelvic or abdominal (belly) pain
  • Trouble eating or feeling full quickly
  • Urinary symptoms such as urgency (always feeling like you have to go) or frequency (having to go often)

Others symptoms of ovarian cancer can include:

  • Fatigue (extreme tiredness)
  • Upset stomach
  • Back pain
  • Pain during sex
  • Constipation
  • Changes in a woman’s period, such as heavier bleeding than normal or irregular bleeding
  • Abdominal (belly) swelling with weight loss

I had just about every single one of these symptoms plus I was abnormally cold & wasn’t hungry ever, I had to force myself to eat. Mothers I was also tired & I could have written this symptom off but I didn’t! You know your body better than anyone, be aware!
